Our History

The original store was established January 19, 1991. It was known as the Samantha’s Sunny Corner.

From that point on I never looked back. A second store was established in 1993 on Market Ave N.W. and like all the best ideas, it’s quite simple. Start by serving exceptional American comfort food with a contemporary twist, and that is how I established my Store Samantha’s Restaurant on Portage.

A finalization of an evolution from the other stores that are independently owned and operated; when you come into Samantha’s it’s a comfortable place to enjoy your favorite breakfast, eat a fantastic meal and meet up with your friends or family.

We have original recipes from 1991 that have been a staple to my business. Our menu ranges from breakfast stackers to homemade chicken pot pies from scratch to specialty entrees to homemade soups and salads.

In November 2011, a new addition was added; a full service bar. So if you want that bloody Mary or mimosa for breakfast, a beer, wine or an adult beverage we offer it.

Reservations are accepted and confirmed during the day. Our Party Room is also available to rent free of charge Wednesday - Saturday from 2:30PM and after, and reservation requests must be made through the manager.

My goal has always been “You can eat as healthy or unhealthy as you want” Some days you just need a fried food fest that makes you feel good, and some days you want to go healthy with fresh vegetables, spinach and a lighter side like fresh salads or homemade soup.
